Primary Care with Dr. Lonnie Joe is a weekly half-hour health talk show where medical conditions relevant to the health and care of African Americans are examined and discussed.
The program is designed to educate viewers by increasing their awareness and understanding of manageable and often-times preventable conditions like diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke and cancer.
Primary Care with Dr. Lonnie Joe also confronts issues of grave concern to the African American community -- access to care, affordable and quality care, health disparities, mental illness and the social and economic factors that affect health. All through the eyes of primary care medicine.
